The Independent Campus Study Program, which was participated by the Best Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia in Sumatra, this time again as many as six students from the Best Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia PTS Sumatra left to take part in the 2021 Independent Student Exchange program at the State University of Gorontalo.
The six students came from the Faculty of Letters and Educational Sciences, two English Education Study Programs, two people from the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Electrical Engineering Study Program, and one person from the Economics and Business Faculty of Management and Accounting Studies Program.
Vice Chancellor of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Dr. H Mahathir Muhammad, SE., MM. said the student exchange in the independent learning program was an opportunity to introduce local culture. Not only changing places of study, but also contributing in a new place.
Mahathir gave a message that all Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia students could protect themselves, the honor of the campus, and the good name of Lampung. He wants all students to give real participation in the place where they study, dig up as much knowledge as possible, don’t waste time, use it to learn and keep learning.
Mahathir also wants there to be a good culture left at the student exchange venue. The main thing, of course, is a culture of discipline, work ethic and a good study ethic. Thus, the existence of Technocrat students can be a good and memorable example. Give more, not just the ordinary.
“It is also hoped that all students can show the uniqueness of Lampung culture to the host. With it, there is a deep impression left. He also encourages students to actively participate in activities during the program.
It is also hoped that they will be given a smooth journey and program implementation until they finally return to the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia in good health and well-being,” he said. Mahathir believes that careful preparation will help students adapt in Gorontalo.
Thanks are conveyed to the Chancellor of the State University of Gorontalo, Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, ST., who supports and accepts the independent campus program, especially students from the Best PTS Sumatran Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. “Hopefully the six students will contribute to the State University of Gorontalo and thank the supervisors at the State University of Gorontalo,” said Mahathir.
Meanwhile, the Chair of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Student Association, the Best PTS Sumatra. Rifqi Ramadhan said he was grateful for being able to take part in the Free Offline Student Exchange program at the State University of Gorontalo. Student representatives said they felt a great welcome. He said that in Gorontalo they made new friends and new experiences.
“What we feel here is extraordinary, because we get new friends and new experiences that we have never had before,” said Rifqi.
“But sometimes we encounter problems due to accent, language, daily life and also the difference in the price of goods or food in Lampung. But we are still trying to adapt to the environment here.”
Rifki added, during the activity, there was a festival featuring traditional clothes and regional specialties from each province.
Therefore, he said, they will also actively participate. They will also carry out Nusantara Module activities which will later visit famous and historical places in Gorontalo.
