Ministry of Education and Culture Appoints Universitas Teknokrat to Hold International Conference

Lembaga Layanan Pendidikan Tinggi Kementrian Pendidikan Kebudayaan Riset dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia menunjuk Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia sebagai Co-host International Conference on Language,

 Linguistics, Literature, and Education. The activity was opened by the Head of LLDIKTI Region II, Prof. Yuliansyah, Ph.D. which supports UTI as one of the best campuses in Sumatra held an international conference which was attended by 8 countries namely Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Algeria, and Indonesia. In its opening, this international conference was held in order to improve the quality of education and research. “This conference activity is expected to be one of the strategies in accelerating the publication of lecturers in fulfilling the Tridharma of Education activities,” he said. Furthermore, in his explanation, LLDIKTI region II still has 11 other international conference activities.

 

The remarks at this event were delivered by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. H. Mahathir Muhammad, SE., MM. which emphasizes the importance of a forum for discussion and exchange of information between lecturers, teachers, practitioners and students, from various universities both at home and abroad. “We want that through the conference we can find solutions and good practices in overcoming current educational problems, especially the application of digital learning during the COVID-19 period,” he said. In addition, “we also open opportunities for international cooperation in the context of education and research collaboration in the fields of language studies, linguistics, literature, and education,” he added.

With the theme “Promoting digital Learning and research collaboration in language, linguistics, and literature”, this prestigious conference took place virtually for two days 27-28 August 2021. From Indonesia itself, participants came from 21 provinces from 5 islands, namely Bali, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Sumatra.

 

This conference presented the keynote speaker, Dr. Willy A Renandya, from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and plenary speaker, Assoc. Prof. Tan Kim Hua, from the National University of Malaysia, Prof. Manneke Budiman, S.S., M.A., Ph.D, from the University of Indonesia, Eri Kurniawan, MA., Ph.D from the Indonesian Education University, Prof. Dr. Tatag Yuli Eko Siswono, M.Pd from Surabaya State University, Dr. H. Syahruddin Saleh, M.Kes from Makassar State University, Dr. Ervina Simatupang, M.Hum from Widyatama University Bandung, and Akhyar Rido, Ph.D from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The event was also attended by nearly 300 participants and 200 presenters. The enthusiasm of the participants can be seen from the active discussions in the main session, plenary session and parallel sessions. Furthermore, the papers presented at this international conference will be published in Sinta accredited national journals, proceedings with ISSN, and book chapters with national ISBN.
