ASEAN’s best private university, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, carried out Community Service (PKM) at SMKN 1 Natar, South Lampung, which was held on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
Multimedia Video Editing Training Content Creation Using the VN Video Editor Application to Improve Student Competence at SMKN 1 Natar, South Lampung.
This Community Service activity is carried out by providing multimedia video editing training materials for content creation using the VN Video Editor application provided by Lecturers and Students of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia and attended by the Principal Mr. IWP Adi Gunawan, S.Pd., Vice Principal of the curriculum of Mrs. Rinelda, S.T, M.Pd., and Mrs. Irma Agustina, S.Pd. and 55 students participated in the training.
The PKM Team of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, A green campus, was chaired by Suaidah, M.Kom., together with other members, namely Lathifah, S.T., M.Kom., Rahmad Dedi Gunawan, S.Kom., M.Kom., Muhtad Fadly, S.E., M.B.A., M.S.Ak., Akt., and Donaya Pasha, S.Kom., M.Kom.. They are lecturers at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. In this activity, the lecturers were accompanied by students from the D3 Accounting Information Systems study program, S1 Informatics, and S1 Information systems, namely Rika Mersita, Mico Fahrizal, and Rido Febryansyah. They are outstanding students who are prepared to become cadres in PKM and other activities.
This training aims to provide insight into the field of multimedia and improve students’ competence in video editing. In this activity, Lecturers and students of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, A Green Campus, training on content creation using the VN Video Editor application provided by Donaya Pasha, S.Kom., M.Kom.
In this training, students are very enthusiastic because the application has many benefits, besides being for the benefit of the school, it can also help students in making video content. This training is also useful for providing knowledge and experience in combining several different media pieces in a video editing application. This PKM provides an introduction to various types of media (text, sound, images, animation, audio, and video), their definitions and characteristics, and how to store and manipulate them.
“After completing this Multimedia Practice, students are expected to be able to understand multimedia concepts, recognize various media formats and their characteristics, be able to combine the use of various media to convey information effectively, and have basic knowledge of shooting, video, image and video editing in the creative industry field,” said Donaya Pasha.
The collaboration between Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia and SMKN 1 Natar, South Lampung, is expected to improve the abilities of lecturers and teachers, both in the field of community service, and improve teacher competence with national and international standards.
Jumariyanto, M.Pd. welcomed and hoped that this collaboration could continue to be improved and thanked Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia for helping students to be more creative and innovative at SMK N 1 Natar, South Lampung.
Vice-Rector of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, Dr. H. Mahathir Muhammad, SE., MM., conveyed that Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia has a superior program, namely Community Service for Schools, hopefully with this program Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia can help schools, especially in Lampung. On this occasion, Mr. Mahathir also strongly supports the development of student interests and talents so that they are better prepared to continue their education to a higher level in the digital era.
