The Certified Independent Study and Internship Program (MSIB) organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) through the Directorate General of Vocational Education received a positive response from students and industry players, both companies and organizations. It was recorded that more than 13,000 students from 1,300 universities participated in the first phase of the MSIB program. In this first phase, 110 interns and 33 MSIB partners covering a total of 1,898 projects have been assisted by approximately 3,000 dedicated professional mentors.
Explanation of the Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Anwar Makarim
Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek), Nadiem Anwar Makarim explained, during the implementation of the second phase of the MSIB, there were 12,209 students active in company activities. This number is the result of the selection of 104,370 students who registered. Then as many as 121 partners passed with high-quality independent study and internship program designs from more than 400 companies that submitted proposals.
MSIB good opportunity for college
The Minister of Education and Technology said that the MSIB program could be a good opportunity for universities and for companies or organizations that are partners in the MSIB program.
“This is a win-win solution to produce the best talent. We are currently entering a very dramatic period, actually, for the first time in Indonesia’s history, all Indonesian companies can become mini universities for six months with full accreditation of 20 credits and also budget assistance from the government,” said Minister Nadiem at the socialization event for Internships and Independent Studies. Stages for a company or organization to become a partner of the MSIB program
There are six stages for companies or organizations that want to become partners in the MSIB program, namely determining the students involved and their qualifications, internship, orientation, project framework, tutoring, and supervision guidance. Of the 34 FTIK students at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, one of the students who passed the MSIB program was Rexy Fahrezi with a 3.83 GPA study program for the S1 Information System FTIK Indonesia Technocrat University. Rexy said he was very proud to have passed the MSIB program and was able to experience the Kemendikbudristek program internship. Rexy was placed as an internship at the Human Resources Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Jakarta, starting his internship on 11 February 2022 to 11 July 2022 under the name Talent Scouting Academy – The Future of IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity, Analyst: Cybersecurity Analyst.
Rexy also agreed to become a participant in the 2022 Certified Internship and Independent Study Program with the following conditions: 1) Students will participate in the 2022 Certified Independent Study and Internship Program fully and responsibly; 2) Students can be placed in Certified Independent Study and Internship Program partners throughout Indonesia in accordance with the results of the selection and consolidation process between the selected student study programs and established Industrial Partners; 3) Students are able to travel across districts/cities/provinces/countries if needed according to the placements determined by the Certified Independent Study and Internship Program partners with strict attention to health protocols.
