Pineboost: Pineapple Peel Probiotic Drink Innovation by Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Wins P2MW 2025 Funding

A student team from Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia has successfully developed Pineboost, a probiotic drink made from pineapple peel extract. This innovative product secured funding from the 2025 Entrepreneurial Student Development Program (P2MW) in the food and beverage category.

Supervised by Febrian Eko Saputra, S.M., M.S.M., the team is led by Velinda Sari and includes members Ayu Novalinda Prayitno, Devi Larasati, Amanda Maylan Indriani, and Aisyah Dzun Nuraini.

The Pineboost innovation successfully transforms pineapple peel, a material often discarded as waste, into a healthy probiotic beverage. Utilizing advanced techniques developed by the students and guided by their lecturer, the team has proven that even agricultural by-products can become high-value, sustainable products.

Dr. H. Mahathir Muhammad, SE, MM, Vice Rector of Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, expressed his appreciation for this outstanding achievement. He praised the students’ creativity in identifying opportunities from pineapple peel, which is often considered worthless.
