Overview
Teknokrat Global Connect (TGC) is an international short-term program designed to offer participants a meaningful academic and cultural experience. This initiative provides students with an opportunity to engage in an immersive learning environment, broaden their global perspectives, and build international connections. The program integrates academic courses, cultural activities, and hands-on experiences to foster both intellectual and personal growth.

Objectives
The program aims to:

  • Introduce participants to Indonesia’s education system.
  • Enhance knowledge and skills through structured coursework.
  • Encourage cross-cultural interactions and international networking.
  • Support students in developing global competencies.

Participant Requirements

  • Candidates must be in good physical and mental health, with valid health insurance as proof.
  • Open to applicants from ASEAN, Asia, Australia, Europe, and America.
  • A strong interest in studying in Indonesia is required.
  • Must demonstrate English proficiency through a TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, or DET certificate.
  • Applicants should be between 18 and 30 years old.

Program Schedule

  • Duration: 2 weeks (In-person)
  • Batch 1: July 28 – August 9, 2025
  • Batch2: April 13 – 26, 2026

Funding & Support

  • Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia (UTI) will cover expenses for; Accommodation, and meals: Enjoy comfortable dormitory accommodation and provided meals throughout the program duration.
  • Participants are responsible for their own round-trip airfare and local transportation expenses.

Course Offerings
Cultural - Enrichment - Short Course. This engaging short course is designed for international participants seeking to deepen their understanding of Indonesian culture while building cross-cultural connections. It blends language learning, cultural immersion, global dialogue, and physical activity into a well-rounded experience. Below are the core components of the program:
  1. Indonesian Society & Traditions Dive into the heart of Indonesian life through an exploration of its diverse societal norms, ethnic heritage, traditional customs, and evolving cultural identity. This module combines classroom discussions with real-life observations and field visits to help participants understand how Indonesia’s rich history and multicultural roots shape modern society.
  2. Bahasa Indonesia for Daily Use This practical language module focuses on basic conversational skills, making it ideal for beginners. Learn how to greet, ask for directions, shop at local markets, and navigate everyday situations. Role-plays, interactive exercises, and real-life simulations ensure participants build confidence in using Bahasa Indonesia in social and cultural settings.
  3. Global Perspectives & Cultural Exchange Foster global citizenship through interactive sessions that encourage sharing perspectives on culture, education, sustainability, and global challenges. Participants will engage in collaborative projects and dialogue with both local and international peers, promoting empathy, critical thinking, and mutual understanding.
  4. Indonesian Arts & Heritage Experience Indonesia’s rich artistic traditions through hands-on workshops in batik-making, gamelan music, traditional dance, and local crafts. Participants not only learn about the historical and cultural significance of these art forms but also get the chance to create and perform, deepening their cultural appreciation through active participation.
  5. Sport Activity: Petanque Join in friendly games of Petanque, a sport with French origins that has become a popular recreational activity in Indonesia. This sport is easy to learn and emphasizes strategy, coordination, and teamwork. It also provides a relaxing way to bond with fellow participants and enjoy outdoor environments.

  • Develop basic communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia.

Short Courses Structure
The course includes the following components:
  • Orientation and Cultural Briefing (Day 1–2): Introduction to Indonesian society, program expectations, and networking activities to build rapport among participants.
  • Core Program Activities (Week 1–2): Participants engage in structured coursework and hands-on modules including Indonesian Society & Traditions, Bahasa Indonesia for Daily Use, Global Perspectives & Cultural Exchange, Indonesian Arts & Heritage, and Sport Activity: Pencak Silat, etc. These modules foster cross-cultural understanding, practical skills, and personal growth.
  • Award Project Development: Throughout the course, participants reflect on their learning and collaborate on short presentations or projects that integrate academic, cultural, and social insights gained from the experience.
Closing Session and Certificate Ceremony (Final Day): Participants share key takeaways and receive certificates of completion.
What To Bring
  • Carry essential documents such as your passport, acceptance letter, and health insurance proofs.
  • Traditional attire representing their country or culture.
  • Ingredients (non-perishable if traveling; perishable items should be bought locally if possible).
  • Cultural background or history of the dish.
Code Of Conduct For Students
  • Conduct yourself professionally at all times
  • Respect the rights of others
  • Attend all scheduled classes and activities with punctuality
  • Notify the Campus Admin Services of any changes in your personal particulars (i.e. changes of address or telephone number etc.
  • Avoid offensive language or gestures.
  • Mandatory participation in classes, workshops, cultural visits, and other program events.
  • Follow house rules (e.g., curfews, chores, use of shared spaces).
  • Visitors must be approved by the host family or program staff.
  • Inform coordinators in case of illness or emergency.
