The Community Development Center

The Community Development Center (Pusat Pengembangan Masyarakat) and the Community Service Grant Program (PKM) based on Bina Desa are programs developed by the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The PKM program facilitates university faculty members to help develop villages through the application of science and technology. The PKM program requires the faculty team to carry out activities that are not just a one-time effort or limited to solving a single problem in a village, but rather to address several problems in the village.

The types of activities under the Bina Desa program include:

  • Governance of the village in the implementation of governance
  • Application of science and technology in the village
  • Improvement of village services to the community
  • Improvement of the village economy
  • Development of village specialty products
  • Overcoming illiteracy
  • Development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)
  • Development of village-owned enterprises (BUMDES)
  • Building “Smart Villages” technology
  • And other activities according to the problems in the village

The main goal of implementing the PKM Bina Desa program is to:

  • Support the Ministry of Education and Culture’s program on “Village Development and Empowerment”
  • Establish cooperation between the university and the village
  • Provide holistic solutions to rural community problems based on multidisciplinary research
  • Assist the government’s program in developing communities and rural areas
  • Assist in the successful implementation of the Village Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJM)
  • Help faculty members implement research results, teaching materials, and development in the form of community service in the village

The specific goals of implementing the PKM Bina Desa program are:

  • Improve the clustering of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia PKM from “Satisfactory” to “Very Satisfactory”
  • Improve the image of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia
  • Serve as a means for faculty members to publish the results of their community service activities in scientific journals or proceedings
  • Improve institutional and study program accreditation in the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia
  • Assist in accelerating the functional promotion of faculty members
  • Support the development of a roadmap for faculty member community service.

The Community Service Grant Program (PKM) based on Bina Sekolah is another program developed by the LPPM at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The main goal of the PKM Bina Sekolah program is to:

Support the government program in the Lampung province on “School/Smart Village”

  • Establish cooperation between the university and the partner
  • Develop the potential of human resources in the Bina Sekolah
  • Provide teaching materials and development in the form of community service at the Bina Sekolah

The specific goals of implementing the PKM Bina Sekolah program are:

  • Serve as a marketing tool for the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia
  • Improve the clustering of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia PKM from “Satisfactory” to “Very Satisfactory”
  • Serve as a means for faculty members to publish the results of their community service activities in scientific journals or proceedings
  • Improve institutional and study program accreditation in the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia
  • Assist in accelerating the functional promotion of faculty members

Support the development of a roadmap for faculty member community service.
