INDONESIA’S FIRST INTERNET OF THINGS CONTROL COMPETITION IMPLEMENTED AT UNIVERSITAS TEKNOKRAT INDONESIA

HIMA FTIK Innovation, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia

The Student Association (HIMA) from S1 Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science (FTIK) Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Green Campus The Champion, known as the Computer Engineering Student Association (CESA) has never been separated from innovation. After the EXPO series held by FTIK Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia at the end of January 2022, this time CESA held an Internet of Things (IoT) control competition called TK/CC/Vol.1 (Computer Controlling Cup Vol.1) with the theme “ RC Car with IoT and Smartphone”.

Smartphone Application and Parallel System that focuses on controlling RC Car

This competition is the output of two courses taught by Lecturers at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, namely the Visual Programming course which focuses on Smartphone Applications and Parallel Systems which focuses on controlling RC Cars, with these two courses the first IoT Control competition was created in Indonesia.

Ide-ide Inovasi dalam Controlling Internet of Things

This competition is the opening of innovative ideas in terms of controlling IoT, the development of this Control will later be useful in the courses that will be taken in the next semester, namely IoT.

The S1 Computer Engineering study program at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia FTIK which focuses on IoT will always develop innovative ideas related to IoT with the hope that in the future the S1 Computer Engineering at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Best PTS Sumatra will become a Study Program that will bring the development of IoT in Indonesia.

This competition is the beginning of the long-term vision of the S1 Computer Engineering Study Program at Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia where next year this competition will be opened for the province of Lampung, in the 3rd year it will be opened for South Sumatra, in the 4th year it will be opened with a National and National level competition. so on until this competition can become an international competition.

 Race Branch Focusn

By utilizing the knowledge gained in the Visual Programming course, students create an application that can run on mobile phones to be able to control an RC Car ndalikan RC Car.

Then in the parallel system course, students make modifications to the RC Car so that it has the ability to remotely control using a wireless network. This competition has several branches, namely Drag Race to find out the fastest RC Car, Zig Zag Race to see the turning ability of an RC Car and Controlling Cup which is the main race with a mini Srikuit mandalika taken from the mandalika circuit model. Some race divisions also require the RC Car to have a camera that is used to control the RC Car from different rooms.

Head of the Computer Engineering S1 Study Program FEB, Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia

Meanwhile, the Head of the S1 Computer Engineering Study Program, Styawati, S.Kom. M.Cs. expressed his appreciation for the competition conducted by students, “In the future students can use the technology they have learned to be able to develop innovations based on IoT that can benefit the community.” he said.

Vice Chancellor of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia

Vice Chancellor of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia Dr. H Mahathir Muhammad, SE., MM. conveyed that he was very proud and always supported HIMA’s activities in innovation and work that fostered students to always think and work. With this competition, it is the beginning of finding the best students in preparation for national and international competitions.

Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs FTIK Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia

The event was opened by the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia, Dr. Si. Dedi Darwis, M. Kom. in his speech he said that currently the study program courses at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia FTIK environment apply base learning outcomes that can be directly applied to the community.
